It’s called TERRA, and its purpose is to shatter preconceived notions about the size, shape, and fundamental aesthetics of pool tables.

“Having seen too many conventional pool tables, which were just the same object in a new dress, I was determined to design a visually unique item which would stand out among all the others,” Massimiliano Maggio says. “I was interested in manipulating the object itself to play with shapes, to distort and dislocate elements like an origami with a sheet of paper”.

Terra’s exceptional design is made possible by cutting-edge tech that grants Maggio additional freedom and flexibility to play around with the billiard’s shape without sacrificing performance.

Additionally, the wide range of exquisite materials in finishings allows the final customers to have an object which is a unique, to be matched with any kind of project.

Here’s my interview with the designer:

What do you think customers that have chosen a Terra billiard will achieve with this piece?

M. Maggio: “Well, each pieces is a unique, as any other tables I do: every tables has my signature stamped on it and its own serial number to be matched with the one reported on the certificate of authenticity our clients receive at the moment of the purchase.

Plus, this one (Terra Billiard) sure is the most exclusive, bespoke and luxurious billiard table you can find on the market for this season and (and I suppose for long time – laugh nda)[…] Raw materials for finishings, obviously made in italy, are outstanding: from Carrara marble to brass, silver and even gold 24k on demand.

M. MAGGIO: I usually work along with interior designers who are looking for a special item tailored on their client’s project, so it is always challenging and 

exciting, but sometimes I happened to deal with the final customer and develop the entire table according to his expectations and needs”.
